Jan Davidsz de Heem was a Dutch artist and is identified as one of the greatest still life painters ever known.  He is famous for his lavish paintings of flowers, fruits, and other objects due to his ability to paint objects with remarkable accuracy and illusionism.  Illusionism is the technique by which objects like flowers, are painted so precisely, they look real.  Look online for examples of this artist’s work including his paintings “Table of Desserts” and “Vase of Flowers.”
Connecting with others and letting them know how we feel is something we all need. With that in mind, this week's art project will have us making flowers for those you care about. Due to our need to be safe, we encourage you to virtually share your artwork. Take a photo of your flowers and send it to your friends and loved ones. Show the people you care about how much they mean to you by sharing something you’ve created!
