The inspiration for our project comes from our highlighted artist, Patrick Wilkey. This project will focus on flowers, their beauty, and the meanings associated with them. We provide some starting points below, but the rest of this piece is up to you, so be creative!
Materials:
● Sketchbook
● Pencil and eraser
● White paper or cardstock
● Any medium of your choice (ink, pencil, paint, markers, colored pencils etc.)
● A phone or computer to look up Floriography.
Directions:
● On the computer or phone, look up Floriography and find some flowers that you like.
● On the sketch paper, write down the flowers and their meanings.
● On the sketch paper, draw the flowers. Think of composition (how you want the flowers to look, in a vase, pieced together, etc.). Draw what you want the art piece to look like.
● On the white paper or cardstock, use whatever medium you chose to draw, paint or color your flowers.
Be inspired, get creative, and, most importantly, have fun!
