Imagine what the museum would look like at night! Imagine taking a walk through the exhibits and shining a flashlight on the works you see! In this activity, you will create our own “Night at the Museum” experience and bring your imagination to life!
Materials Needed:
● Clear sheet protector binder sleeve or a large ziplock bag
● Black marker and colored markers or highlighters.
● Scissors
● White paper or white cardstock
● Black paper
● Print an outline or silhouette of a painting or sculpture that you would see in a museum, or create an original painting or sculpture drawing.
Directions:
1 - Take the printed copy of the painting or sculpture, and put it into the clear sleeve or ziplock bag
2 - Trace over the outline with a black marker, drawing on the sleeve or bag.
3 - Use the colored markers or highlighters to color in the outline.
4 - Take the paper out of the clear sheet or ziplock bag and replace it with a black paper.
5 - Draw the outline of a flashlight on a piece of white paper or white cardstock. Also add the outline of a cone/beam of light being emitted from the flashlight.
6 - Use the markers or highlighters to color in the base of the flashlight, leaving the cone/beam part white.
7 - Cut out the outline.
8 - Place the flashlight inside the clear sleeve or bag and move it around inside to see what the art piece would look like at night!
This project is so fun to create, so get inspired, be creative, and have fun!
