Our fall Artist book is inspired by Nancy Steele-Makasci. These artist books are personal, so really get creative and think of time, a place, a feeling or event, for your inspiration! We will be giving directions on how to format the book, but the rest is up to you!

Heads or Tails: We ALWAYS Lose!, artist’s book with mixed media, by Nancy Steele-Makasci. Part of the 2021 Faculty Art Exhibition.

Materials:
●    Paper, drawing paper, or white cardstock
●    Pencil
●    Scissors
●    Ruler 
●    Sketch paper
●    Any tools or techniques you want to create your artist book
Directions:
●    Get inspired by our artist book!
●    Using a pencil on sketch paper, draw and write down all the ideas of what you want your book to look like. 
●    This art form will take a lot of imagination, use of expression, and time. 
●    Take a white piece of paper, drawing paper or white cardstock and fold it in half vertically.
●    Fold it vertically again. It should look like a tall rectangle (see our example for reference).
●    Start on the left side of your folded rectangle. 
●    Measure down 2 inches and make a mark.
●    Use your ruler from that mark to the top right corner and make a dotted line.
●    Take your scissors and cut along the dotted line.
●    Open up your folded paper.
●    Use your creativity to design the outside and inside of your folded book form.
●    Remember this is your personal artist design!
